 Situated to the north of Arrecife, Costa Teguise is a resort on Lanzarote where many hotels have direct access to the beaches of fine golden sand in the area. It is an excellent place to base yourself if you intend to explore the central and northern parts of Lanzarote.
Location
The resort is only 20 minutes from the airport, and is fairly central to the island itself. Being only 10 minutes from the historic capital of Teguise, it is a convenient place to explore the islands tourist and cultural attractions from. History Costa Teguise is a fairly recent resort, making a footing in the tourism industry in the 1970s. Beaches Costa Teguise has quite good beaches with fine golden sand, they are all well maintained. Many of the hotels in Costa Teguise have direct access to the beach. Attractions Ten minutes away you will find the historic Lanzarote capital of Teguise. A welcome break from the coast, especially on market days, they have a very imformative website www.teguise.com. The resort is also very well located for access to attractions in the north of Lanzarote, such as Cuevas de los Verdes, Jameos del Agua and Jarin de Cactus. Sport  Costa Teguise is perfect for windsurfing, a sport which is popular with locals and tourists. Classes are available, and there's the original 18 hole Golf course.Shopping There are plenty of shops around the main tourist area, where you can buy anything from perfulme and jewellery to electricals and gifts. There are a number of small supermarkets such as Spar and Netto which are handy for self catering holidays. Eating Being a recent development, Costa Teguise has plenty of restaurants, catering for almost all tastes including Chinese, Indian, Local, British and take-away. Night Life Rather lively night spots are located in Costa Teguise, has a wide selection of bars of both British and local style. The best fun bar is the lively lady show bar, great fun drag show and free entrance. Sleeping You can get anything from budget to luxury in the hotel sector, and many villas and apartments are available to rent. Transport Buses and taxis are available to many parts of the island (though some bus journeys may require a change in Arrecife). The resort is also well located on the road network for access to the whole of Lanzarote.

As with most of Lanzarote, the sun shines almost all year round. It can be breezy, which makes it an added benefit during the heights of summer.Go back
