El Golfo has two beaches.

It’s not so much about sunbathing, but more the natural beauty of Lanzarote. The beach El Golfo is the small inlet you pass on the way to the larger beach Charco de los Clicos, which is probably the main reason people visit El Golfo. El Golfo beach is used mainly by the fisherman living nearby. TThe view across Charco de los Clicos from the top of the walkway by El Golfo beach gives you a magnificent view across he green lagoon. The spectacle is actually the crater of an old volcano, it is a long wide beach, which can be windy with strong waves. The sand is black and fairly fine.

El Golfo village sits close to the inlet, separated from the beach by a giant red rock. Some of the local houses have been converted by the villagers into seafront restaurants, where the dish of the day is literally caught that day. The beach is rather rocky, not useful for sunbathing.

After a relaxing lunch in El Golfo, you can then take the road to Charco de los Clicos, and walk across the beach you’ve just viewed from above. The green lagoon is colourful to say the least, and is framed perfectly between massive red rocks, lue sea and balck sand.

Both Beaches border on, but remain ouside the Timanfya National Park.

Top Tip, Enjoy a homecooked meal in one of the local restaurants of El Golfo village, with a table overlooking the ocean and fresh locally caught fish served every day.
