The Mirador del Rio is very much the work of César Manrique. The structures combine architecture, nature and art to create a truly amazing experience.
The views 400 metres above the Risco de Famara include El Río, the waters separating Lanzarote and La Graciosa, the eighth Canary Island. Beneath is the reddish glow of the Salinas del Rio.
Camouflaged in the rock, from the outside you would not assume the inside to be quite so large. It’s a James Bond meets Doctor Who experience.
Facilities at Mirador del Rio include free car and bicycle parking, wi-fi, binocular hire and a cafeteria.
